Exercise regularly, be happy!

MACFit Atlaspark Trainer Hüseyin Fidan said that regular exercise is directly proportional to happiness. Stating that exercise causes changes such as increased blood flow in the brain and the formation of new neural pathways, Fidan said, “In response to increased physical activity, hormones such as endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine are released. Endorphins provide a high mood after exercise. “As the body’s natural pain reliever, it reduces discomfort, increases happiness, and improves self-esteem.”

feel good

Stating that the hormone serotonin helps to sleep soundly, Fidan said, “Serotonin controls appetite, helps to sleep more soundly and regulates mood. All of these factors make you feel happier, calmer, and more stable. Dopamine is the hormone that keeps you coming back for more, that is, it forms a habit that is enjoyed. When we take action and feel good, a signal goes to the motivating reward and pleasure centers of our brain.”

exercise, reduce stress

Hüseyin Fidan continued: “Exercise not only makes us happy, it also reduces the risk of facing stress. Chronic stress is an important factor in many psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety. The pressure to meet the demands of everyday life can cause an overproduction of the ‘fight or flight’ hormones cortisol and adrenaline. Prolonged production of these hormones is also the main cause of many stress-related illnesses. Exercising regularly ensures the release of the ‘happiness’ hormones we listed above, as well as balancing the excessive production of cortisol and adrenaline.”
